Pikes Peak America’s Mountain
The 14,110 foot summit is America’s most famous mountain and the inspiration for Katherine Bates “America the Beautiful”. You can choose to drive the Highway all the way to the top or sit back, relax and enjoy the views aboard the world’s highest cog railroad. At the top the first prominent mountain-top you see to the north is Thunder Butte, the Resort is located in that region.
Royal Gorge Bridge & Park
The highest suspension bridge in the world, the bridge towers 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River. Located 12 miles west of Canon City. From Pikes Peak Resort the approximate drive time is 1.5 to 2 hours. Phantom Canyon is a wonderful and thrilling way to return to the Resort.
Garden of the Gods – A great place to visit! Registered National Natural Landmark in Colorado Springs, is open from 5 am to 11 pm in the summer and 5 pm to 9pm in the winter. Visitor & Nature Center is open from 9 am to 5 pm in the winter months and 8 am to 8 pm Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Both Park and Visitor Center are free and open to the public. Enjoy FREE 30 minute, naturalist-led walks daily at 10 am & 2 pm presenting fascinating facts and lore of the area. Cave of the Winds
Offers two different tours for different perspectives of this true geological wonder of Colorado. The Discovery tour is great for the entire family. Many of our guests have enjoyed the historical perspective with the Lantern Tour that includes facts and folklore the early years.
Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center
An exceptional 20,000 square foot facility located in downtown Woodland Park “At the Palms” at 201 S. Fairview. Throughout the Dinosaur Resource Center there are life restorations, interactive displays and dinosaur displays that are both educational and entertaining.
The museum offers great group tour rates. A group of 10 or more can receive a guided tour at discounted rate. To insure that we have tour guides scheduled, we ask that tours are booked at least two weeks in advance. Please call 719-686-1820 X111 for prices and details. Open 7 days a week.

 Hiking - A collection of books with hiking suggestions and trail locations is located in the Lodge. Mueller State Park is a great place to hike and enjoy views of San Juans. Plus feel free to hike on our 200-acre mountain ranch.
Want to geocache? There are plenty opportunities to find that special cache in the area.
Fishing - Fishing on the stream located on the Resort does not require a fishing license. Manitou Lake is within 10 minutes of the resort and is a great place to drop a line. Fishing licenses can be obtain at many convenience stores located in Woodland Park daily licenses are $9. Non-residents can also purchase a 5 day license for $21. The DOW can be contacted online at wildlife.state.co.us for hunting and fishing information. Fly fishing is also available in the area.
 Horseback Riding - Enjoy the day riding horses and breath in that mountain air. Bring your horse on vacation with you! Boarding available onsite, $10 per day per horse. No horses no problem, approximately 1.25 hours from the Lodge is McNamara Ranch, a working guest ranch.with wilderness trails seldom seen by humans, your ride will be tailored to your ability. Triple B Ranch, is also located on Highway 67 on the way to the Lodge and offers 1 to 2 hours guided trail rides. Contact them today to book your ride.
